Landscape Paintings and Drawings
As an artist, I find inspiration in nature and the landscape. I use these elements as a jumping off point for my creative expression, which can sometimes take the form of abstraction and other times be more realistic.
I am heavily influenced by a number of artists, including Paul Gauguin, Gustav Klimt, Vincent van Gogh, and Paul Cezanne. In particular, I am drawn to Gauguin's use of color and his ability to convey a sense of place and culture through his paintings.
One of the key elements that I strive to incorporate in my work is a sense of deconstruction. I aim to find the bones of it, the underlying structure that gives it shape and meaning. This is particularly evident in some of my more abstract pieces, where I use bold lines and shapes to break down a scene into its fundamental components.
In addition to the artists mentioned above, I am also deeply influenced by the work Edgar Payne with its balance of boldness and detail.
My work as an artist is a constant exploration of the world around me, a series of hits and misses, with hopefully more hits than misses to bring something into life.
